What does it take to become president?

With all the hoopla over Tramp’s indictment, one question gets asked repeatedly. Will the Tramp be allowed to run for the Presidency?

It seems that the requirements for running as a Presidential candidate are the following:

The Constitution requires three things of candidates:

• A natural-born citizen.

• At least 35 years old.

• A resident of the US for at least 14 years

So yes, it does appear that the Tramp is allowed to run.

But, then again, so is Lu the hippopotamus.

Lu, (Lucifer) was born on January 26, 1960 at the San Diego Zoo making him 61 years old, the oldest and wisest hippopotamus in captivity. Lu is also an honorary citizen hippo in the state of Florida.

Some Conservative Republicans may complain about Lu, But one thing is certain, Lu is definitely no Rhino!

It is no surprise that Tramp’s behavior can be compared to other certain animal species. The best examples are the brood parasites. The brood parasites are champion manipulators.

What is most perplexing are the victims of Tramp’s brood parasitism. They haven’t the vaguest idea of their own victimization. What a pity.

All things considered, I honestly feel that we would probably be better off with the fat hippo Lu than the other fat hippo.

With apologies to T. S. Eliot.

THE HIPPOPOTAMUS

TS Eliot (1888-1965)

THE broad-backed hippopotamus

Rests on his belly in the mud;

Although he seems so firm to us

He is merely flesh and blood.

It fits.
